coders assist in the reimbursement of ambulance claims from healthcare insurance companies.
â Entering Patient Health Information into the TriTech system from the ZOLL Web PCR
â Assigns appropriate ICD-10 codes based on the information documented in the patient care report
â Review documentation to determine medical necessity of the ambulance transport and enter appropriate billing
â Ensure that all necessary documents are present before submitting a claim for reimbursement
â Performing other duties as assigned.
â Proficient with a PC
â Knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
â Knowledge of procedure and diagnostic codes (HCPCS and ICD-10 codes)
â Knowledge of medical terminology
â Knowledge of Medical Billing
â Ability to work independently and with a group
â Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
â Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
â Thorough knowledge of office practices
â Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.
â Proficiency using 10 key
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
â High School Diploma or GED
â Minimum of one year revenue
â Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other
federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
â Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local
