NEWBURGH, N.Y. — A New York EMT was fired after using a racial slur on Facebook.

Robert Lukens was terminated from Mobile Life Support Services after using the N-word to refer to looters while commenting on civil unrest related to the police killing of George Floyd, according to Mid Hudson News.

“The comments and views of one employee absolutely do not reflect those of Mobile Life Support Services, its administration, management and most importantly its front-line workers,” the company said in a statement on Facebook.

The statement added that a thorough internal investigation took place over the last couple days leading to Lukens’ termination. The company wrote that it has a diverse staff of more than 450 EMS providers “of a multitude of different ethnicities, orientations and beliefs.”

"[Lukens’] behavior and statements are abhorrent. We do not condone his thoughts, feelings, words, beliefs or actions and will not tolerate bigotry or discrimination in any form,” the statement read.
