Man dies in Ind. ambulance collision

Police say an 81-year-old man was killed after his vehicle pulled into the rig’s path

NEW CASTLE, Ind. — One person was killed in an ambulance crash in Indiana early Monday morning.

Police say the New Castle EMS rig struck the driver’s side of a car that pulled into its path shortly after midnight, according to WTHR.

The driver of the car, Robert Snedigar, 81, was killed in the collision. The two ambulance crewmembers who were in the rig at the time were not injured.

Officials said the rig was not responding to an emergency and there were no patients on board at the time of the crash. Indiana State Police are investigating the incident.
