Today, we were proud to welcome the Hempstead County Leadership Class of 2026 to Pafford Medical Services for an inside look at the people, systems, and coordination that keep EMS moving.
As part of their Health and Human Services Day, the group spent time at MedComm, our communications center in Hope, where they saw what happens from the moment a 911 call is placed. Our team walked them through call intake, triage, and dispatch, showing how quickly decisions are made and how the right resources are assigned.
From there, the class stepped into the field side of EMS with a hands-on ambulance demonstration led by Recruiter and EMT Nikki Morphew. They explored the layout of a working ambulance, learned about the LUCAS device and its role in delivering consistent, high-quality CPR, and also had the chance to practice loading a stretcher.
The day continued with a tour of our warehouse and Emergency Operations Center with members of our Supply Chain and Logistics team, where the class saw another critical side of our operation. From stocking ambulances and stations to supporting large-scale response efforts, they gained a better understanding of the logistics behind readiness. Inside the EOC, they also learned about our Special Operations Division and the coordination required to respond to disasters across multiple states.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to share what we do and thankful to spend time with a group so invested in the future of Hempstead County.
