PAFFORD MEDICAL SERVICES’ OKLAHOMA “STAR” NICK GOFF MEETS CONGRESSIONAL REPRESENTATIVES IN WASHINGTON D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — June 12-13, 2018 — Pafford Medical Services announces that its Oklahoma Star of Life, Nick Goff, paramedic/field training officer from Sequoyah County, met with Oklahoma Senator James M. Inhofe and Jake Hinch from his staff; Senator James Lankford, Representative Markwayne Mullin; and Delegate Stacey Plaskett from the USVI, as part of the festivities surrounding the American Ambulance Association's Stars of Life program. The 100 Stars of Life for 2018 and their companies' hosts from all over the U.S. are being honored for their service to their communities.

The June 12 and 13 meetings with the Senators and Representatives were also attended by Oklahoma's other Stars of Life: Brandt Hiler (Muskogee County EMS), Brandon Jones (AMR/ EMSA), Casey Dodson (LifeNet), Tawny Province-Ward (Life Emergency Medical Services), Kristin Bass (Muskogee County EMS) and Erin O'Grady (REACT EMS). The senators and representatives thanked each "Star" for their service to Oklahoma's citizens, learned about the particular reason each one was nominated and were invited to a "ride-along" with any of the services represented when they are back in their Oklahoma districts to witness firsthand the critical role played by the state's EMS providers.

During the meeting, Goff was congratulated for his dedication to EMS in Oklahoma and particularly for the care and assistance he provided to the sick and injured patients he encountered during Pafford Medical Services' deployments following hurricanes in Texas, Florida, and the USVI St. Croix, and fires in Northern California. He spent countless hours doing whatever was necessary to assist victims.

“We’re so proud of Nick and delighted that his exemplary service is being honored on such a grand stage,” said Jamie Pafford-Gresham, CEO of Pafford Medical Services and chairperson for the American Ambulance Association’s Government Affairs Committee. She accompanied Goff to the meeting, along with Rebecca Williamson, chief compliance officer for Pafford Medical Services and chairperson for the American Ambulance Association's Medicare Regulatory Committee.

About the Stars of Life Program

The Stars of Life Program is an annual event recognizing the country's most exemplary paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), emergency medical dispatchers (EMDs) and EMS support personnel by their companies and the American Ambulance Association (AAA), the primary trade association of ground ambulance service suppliers and providers in the U.S. The AAA was formed in 1979 in response to the need for improvements in medical transportation and emergency medical services. It represents hundreds of ambulance service suppliers and providers across the U.S. that provide emergency and non-emergency ambulance services to more than 75 percent of the U.S. population. The AAA serves as the leading voice and clearinghouse for ambulance services, and views prehospital care not only as a public service but also as an essential part of the total public healthcare system.
